Traffic Jam at the Crossing

This morning, shortly before 9 a.m., a parade of railroad equipment heading north caused a traffic jam at the Broad Street crossing. In the few minutes it took for the ten or so pieces of equipment to pass, the line-up of vehicles waiting to cross the railroad tracks included two Colarusso dump trucks heading for the dock and two heading out from the dock.

  1. What does this have to do with anything? So what?

  2. Herb,

Colarusso is proposing to make up to 284 heavy dump truck trips a day thru South Bay, and then at over the rails at Broad St., intermingled with cars, bikes, pedestrians, etc. It is a safety nightmare and obviously unworkable, and totally out of alignment with the City of Hudson Comprehensive Plan, the LWRP, and our zoning. The company is nuts to think this is OK.
